Investigation of Crystallization Fouling on Novel Polymer Composite Heat Exchanger Tubes

چکیده
Metals are common construction materials for heat exchangers. However, metals may suffer from failure due to corrosion, especially in harsh environments. Innovative thermally conductive polymer composite tubes based on polypropylene or polyphenylene sulfide filled with graphite have been developed. Crystallization fouling metal surfaces has extensively studied. data very limited. In the current study, a stirred vessel test rig and horizontal tube falling film were used compare propensity of stainless steel tubes. Experiments performed calcium sulfate solutions mixed salt containing carbonate sulfate. The induction periods resistances over time measured. novel showed lower crystallization compared period was longer reduction overall transfer coefficient notably

Review Heat Exchanger: Research Development of Self-rotating Inserts in Heat Exchanger Tubes
Heat exchangers are widely used in power engineering and industrial applications, many techniques such as coiled tube, surface tension devices, rough surfaces, extended surfaces have been investigated to enhancethermal performance and to minimize the cost and size of the heat exchanger equipment. One of the most important techniques is tube insert. In general, tube inserts can be classified into...
متن کاملMechanism of Crystallization Fouling during Pool Boiling of Finned Tubes
The formation of deposits on heat transfer surfaces is the main hurdle in optimum operation of thermal desalination units. It is, therefore, common practice to operate these units i.e. MSF under sub-atmospheric pressure to boil saline water below saturation temperature of which depositions occurs. However this comes with high price-tag for excessive use of energy for pumping. Alternative and en...
